Kings At Cosford Cinema
A universal story of disenfranchisement and search for identity. In the mid 1970s, a group of six young men left their homes in the West of Ireland, took the boat out of Dublin Bay and sailed across the sea to England in the hope of making their fortunes and returning home. Thirty years later only one, Jackie Flavin, makes it home -- but does so in a coffin. Jackie's five friends reunite at his wake where they are forced to face up to the reality of their alienation as long term emigrants who no longer have any real place to call home. This was Ireland's official entry to the 2007 Academy Awards. The film begins at 6pm at Cosford Cinema on the second floor of the Memorial Classroom building on UM campus. Cash only. Call 305-284-4861. http://www.com.miami.edu/cosford

Full Grown Men At Cosford Cinema
Here is the beautiful, funny, sad story of Alby Cutrera, a hopelessly adolescent man whose wife kicks him out with an ultimatum: "Don't come back til you grow up." Rather than do some much-needed soul searching, Alby goes looking for his childhood best friend to take a road trip to the one place on earth he knows will make no adult demands: Diggityland. His friend Elias has grown up, however, and he remembers a less rosy version of their childhood. Namely, one full of taunts and humiliations as Alby's fall guy. Thus begins a journey along which the two men meet a cast of fellow failed romantics including cameos from Alan Cumming, Amy Sedaris and Debbie Harry. Each one pokes a new hole in Alby's delusions of the golden days of youth. Without some regressive therapy, Alby is stuck. It's only by exploding the land mines of his past that he can move forward into his future. The film begins at 8pm at Cosford Cinema on the second floor of the Memorial Classroom building on UM campus. Cash only. Call 305-284-4861. http://www.com.miami.edu/cosford
