Fine Tuning: Connecting with Your Inner Power
Jane Bernard has created an inspiring work of art with Fine Tuning: Connecting with Your Inner Power ($19.95). This book, written in a unique style is designed to encourage you to re-think your life, your thinking and your behavior. The premise is that we are all mired in the ruts of daily life, having forgotten how to use all of our senses to experience life. In using those senses, we enable our sixth sense, that of intuition, to come forth and guide us. Meet the author at Books And Books, 265 Aragon at 4pm. Ignatius MacFarland: Frequenaut!
After being teased one too many times, Ignatius MacFarland decides to build a rocket. Maybe extraterrestrials are nicer than his classmates! But when his rocket takes an explosive wrong turn, Ignatius ends up in another frequency run by former English-teacher-turned-dictator, Chester Arthur. Mr. Arthur has taken the art, culture, and advancements of our world, shared them with this new frequency, and convinced the creatures around him that he's a genius. It's up to Iggy and Karen, another trapped earthling, to expose Mr. Arthur for the fraud that he is -- and to hopefully make it home alive. Part comedy, part science fiction, and part fantasy, Ignatius Macfarland: Frequenaut! (Little Brown, $16.99, ages 8-12), the debut middle grade novel by Freaks and Geeks creator and co-producer of NBC's The Office, Paul Feig, makes being a geek, well, kind of cool.
