Coral Gables Museum Preview Exhibit

The European Union: What Americans Should Know
Joaquín Roy (Lic. Law, University of Barcelona, 1966; Ph.D, Georgetown University, 1973), is Jean Monnet Professor of European Integration, Director of University of Miami European Union Center and Co-Director of the Miami-Florida European Union Center of Excellence. He has published over 200 academic articles and reviews, and is the author, editor, or co-editor of 30 books. Tonight, Dr. Roy joins us to address The European Union: What Americans Should Know, with an explanation of the basic history, institutional framework and functions of the European Union. Founded in 1952, it is the largest economic bloc on earth (more than 500 million people of 27 European Countries) and it has become the model of point of reference for any other attempt of regional integration.
